Camp Lookout and the Places we Play!

The camp itself is on a heavily wooded, hilly peninsula bounded by Lower Herring Lake and Lake Michigan. Water activities take place in both lakes. There is no vehicle access to the camp; access for campers is by pontoon boat from our parking lot on the north shore.

What parents and campers say

"Being at camp, for me, has been what it feels like to be alive. I can be whomever I want, be free, speak my mind, and I am happy and laugh so much more than I do at home. It has made me capable of learning other people's point of view, opening myself to allow others to learn about me, and I know what it feels like to feel pure, unhindered joy."
- Camper from session C
"I really like the free time and all the time outdoors. I love that they can help create their own activities. The creativity, free-time, and rustic atmosphere is why I picked this camp. My son is begging me to sign him up for next year."
- Parent from Session D
"The feeling of acceptance and a stronger self worth. My child felt they could be the person they wanted to be, without the pressures of conformity that they experience at school"
- Parent from Session B

Crystalaire Adventures

Our sister program, Crystalaire Adventures, operates under the same philosophical umbrella as Camp Lookout. What we do in a residential setting, Crystalaire Adventures does in a wilderness setting. Many campers age-out of camp but continue their experience with Crystalaire Adventures. We also offer custom trips for, families, organizations, school groups and more!
