Meet Curtis
Curtis has a passion and excitement for camping and a feeling of responsibility toward the traditions of Crystalaire, Carvela, and Lookout. After graduating from Michigan Technological University in 2002, he has worked at several camps, in various positions and began his tenure with Lookout, Crystalaire, and Carvela in 2010.
Prior to his involvement with Camp, he was an engineer designing safety equipment for various industries. However, camping was never far from his heart.
Curtis has a passion for creating a fun and dynamic culture focusing on equity, inclusion, and community.
By empowering campers and staff he hopes to provide an atmosphere where children can enjoy the outdoors while experiencing a supportive and engaging community.
Brooke McFall, Curtis’s wife, is on the faculty of the University of Michigan as an assistant research scientist with the Institute for Social Research. Brooke and Curtis have been married since 2010 and have three kiddos. During the summer Brooke spends much of her time at camp working remotely for the University of Michigan.
