Campers choose their activities two times each day. Although the actual number of choices are dependent upon the session enrollment, there are usually a wide variety of activities available each morning and afternoon. We attempt to make choices as varied as possible.

Days at camp vary as widely as the creativity and imagination of campers and staff allow. In each of three daily program meetings (after breakfast, after rest hour and after dinner), campers and staff decide what activities will be offered. Activities during either the morning or afternoon could be focused on a specific skill instruction (sailing, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding, swimming, mountain biking, art, sports skills, or similar activities) or may be a bit more flexible and subject to the spontaneity of the camp community (creating a large outdoor sculpture, organizing a theme meal, working on a creative writing project, designing and building a "forest fort", organizing a talent night, or rehearsing a play). Evenings tend toward larger group activities including games such as Capture the Flag, Balloon Alcatraz, talent night, fantasy night, or a campfire. Or, there may be 2 or 3 choices ranging from very active games to quieter, smaller group activities.
In addition to these kinds of choices, campers in longer sessions are also offered a variety of day trips--- hikes to Old Baldy or Jeff's Dune, mountain biking on local trails or biking to Frankfort, or canoeing or kayaking on the Betsie River.
Overnight camping is, historically, one of the more popular activities at camp. Campers may have an overnight sleepout under the stars on our Lake Michigan Beach or set up a more involved camp at a a primitive campsite in the back woods adjoining camp. Campers help plan and organize each trip- from developing the route and packing equipment and planning and cooking the meals.

Camp activities are non-competitive. There are no color wars or intra-camp / inter-cabin competitions. Although we have many team sports, team composition changes frequently so that everyone who wishes to play will have an opportunity. Scores are kept haphazardly.
We have no camp movie/video nights, electronic games, computer labs or all camp social dances. Instead we do many games and sports, special events, skits, dramatic, talent and music activities which foster active, involved individual participation. WE have no activities offered only to boys or only to girls; instead touch football, sewing, bicycle repair, baking or building are offered to any camper interested.
